The sports voice of the Coon Valley Radio Group is Shawn Kenney, a Council Bluffs, IA native who handles all play-by-play action of the Perry Bluejays and surrounding communities. In addition, Kenney provides daily sports reports covering Central Iowa high school and in-state collegiate athletics. Kenney, in 2002, was named Iowa Baseball Coach’s Association Contributor of the Year, and was presented the Perry Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year in 2008. The 1998 University of Iowa Graduate has provided play by play for the NCAA Wrestling Championships the past 2 years for ESPN360.  Kenney, in his 12th year of play by play broadcasting, has provided the call for the CBA’s Omaha Racers, along with state high school and college competition.
